The National Science Foundation will fund approximately $140 million in seven new National Artificial Intelligence Research Institutes in the fields of climate, agriculture, energy, public health, education and cybersecurity. In this regard, a meeting was held last Thursday hosted by President Biden and his vice president Kamala Harris with the participation of major AI CEOs including Google’s Sundar Pichai, Microsoft’s Satya Nadella, OpenAI’s Sam Altman, and Anthropic’s Dario Amodei to discuss the risks of AI.
