According to ConsenSys’s blog, one of MetaMask’s third-party providers was hacked on April 14. Hackers accessed one of the provider’s databases that processed customer requests. So, they might have access to personal information of 7000 users including email address, economic or financial information, name, surname, date of birth, phone number, and postal address. The company alert that users who submitted customer service tickets between August 1, 2021, and February 10, 2023, should stay vigilant as they might receive an elevated amount of phishing emails.
MetaMask is one of the most used cryptocurrency wallets. The platform belongs to ConsenSys and partners with several third-party providers.
